In the history of Indian Cinema, right from the start Telugu film industry holds an important position. At first the film industry was first in Chenna Patnam (presently Chennai) and released many films. Even before the Independence Telugu movies were made to point out the wrongs in politics,atrosities of the society and worked for the welfare of the society. After the formation of Andhra pradesh the telugu film Industry slowly shifted to Hyderabad. Now hundreds of films are released every year. Telugu film industry is lovingly called 'Tollywood'.
